While attending WVU, I played for the Women’s Rugby Team and competed for the English Equestrian Team until transitioning and becoming the Co-Captain for both the WVU Road Cycling Team and WVU Western Equestrian Team my junior and senior year. During this time I also competed in the Appalachian Bicycle Racing Association’s road cycling series. My coaching background includes coaching tennis camps and clinics for 3 years, personal training for 4 years, and leading spin classes for 2 years. Finally, I was wrapping up my clinical rotations in the middle of nowhere, WV and discovered CrossFit in an attempt to increase my strength training and meet others. I became fired up by the weaknesses that this new training brought to the surface. CrossFit and weightlifting has become an incredible tool I use for general wellness, rehab, and cross training in effort to discover new ways to pursue challenge and discomfort. Currently, I continue to race bikes and compete in Jumper events alongside my horse, Hope.
Coaching CrossFit allows me to combine my interest in bio mechanics with the ability to assist others in overcoming physical limitations and mental barriers. It is never too late to steer yourself away from medications and wheelchairs.
