I have been active in the fitness industry for twelve years. I was introduced to CrossFit about five years ago, and like many others, wasn't completely sold on the philosophy behind the program. So I continued my "half-body-building-half-circuit-training" methods of working out, experimenting with CrossFit every now and then. After a couple of years, in 2007, as the CrossFit community and buzz behind it didn't seem to go away or be proven wrong, I decided to get certified and give it a real shot. Upon completing my certification and taking CrossFit's exercise concepts more seriously, I quit my regular "routines" and began my journey towards what I am today - a complete CrossFit psycho. My goal every time I work out is to push myself further and set new PRs. My diet is completely Zone friendly. My times and loads are minutes and pounds faster and heavier than ever before. CrossFit is a huge part of my life and because I'm now completely sold on their philosophy, I feel that it's my job to coach others and increase their fitness levels, no matter what their exercise background.

I am an amateur powerlifter, Olympic lifter, and kettlbell enthusiast. My biggest influences in the fitness arena are Mike Mahler, Coach Dan Jon, Coach Rippetoe, Pavel Tsatsouline, Coach Burgenner,  and of course Coach Glassman.  I was turned on to Crossfit a few years back while serving in the Army in Washington D.C.  I initially looked to Crossfit to enhance my conditioning for kickboxing, but have now come to realize that Crossfit offers a much greater potential for me and others.  What really draws me to Crossfit is functional part of the equation.  I believe these modes of exercise we use are an integral part of human movement in regards to our anatomy.  I also believe these movements have tremendous therapeutic properties by way of balancing and aligning the body in terms of strength and flexibility.

Yes, CrossFit gets a lot of hype - but I wasn't convinced until I tried it myself. I've been doing the CrossFit workout-of-the-day for 2.5 years and am now completely sold on the effectiveness of the program because I have seen incredible strength improvements and time performance improvements in both myself and in others. I am a former cross-country runner (16:35 PR). Six years ago I had arms like sticks and weighed 130lb. Today I'm up to 170lb and I'm stronger than ever thanks to CrossFit. If you had told me I'd be deadlifting 350lb, doing 30 consecutive pull-ups, or hitting a 48" box jump just one year ago I would have laughed in your face considering my chronic low back pain and weak arms. Based on nine years of machine training at regular gyms with little or no results, I did not believe I had the genetics to "be strong". CrossFit changed my world.

CrossFit is quickly growing because thousands of other individuals continue to see incredible results like this in workouts that last only 20-30 minutes each day. If you are willing to commit I can help you achieve levels you simply never thought your body was capable of performing. No bullshit.

Let me also add that Aaron is concerned on making sure that you improve and that you are using proper technique. He has a lot of patience and will help you work through your problem areas. Anyone can improve if you are serious about exercise and you are committed to your own health. I have been working with Aaron for 6 months and have seen improvements in strength and endurance!! I highly endorse Aaron and crossfit.

I've been with crossfit for six months and I am very pleased with the results I have been able to achieve because of adhering and being totally committed to the training methods. They are the safest methods I have ever come across and I have been training for over thirty years and still learning. I hope and pray that I never know it all, because a man who knows everything knows nothing!!!

Aaron Shaffer is the best trainer that know, all other trainers should learn how to train from him! I have been in gyms and have witnessed how little these trainers know and it's utterly amazing that more people are not injured listening to these other trainers in some of these gyms. I survived a horrible accident a year ago and I literally had to start over again and find my way back and now I'm almost there doing things I wouldn't have even dreamed of doing, squatting and deadlifting and looking forward to them and enjoying them now. Crossfit for ever!!!!

Brady, you're a great part of the Cleveland CrossFit crew. Thank you for the motivation you provide to all of us!

I'm not the best - but I am taught by some of the world's best. I would never be where I am today without their instruction.

I highly recommend coming to a class, no matter what shape you’re in. I was easily 70 lbs over weight, and pretty much a professional couch potato. Since the 3 weeks I’ve been going, I have lost 10 lbs and have definitely gotten stronger. I still have a long way to go, but with the knowledge and support of Travis and the rest of the CrossFit family, I will for sure get there sooner than later. I can honestly say that joining CrossFit has been a life changing experience. Aren’t YOU ready for a change??
